                                    personal  productivity methods for:

·         MBA course + thesis research

·         Highly qualified for competitive job market, upon graduation

Assessment methods:

1. Skills growth - Initial self assessment compared to self assessment on completion of the course

2. Online blog posts of all assigned work

Course outline:

           

Session 1	In Classroom Overview of skills essential for MBA work; introduction to hospitality employment marketplace; technical set up of platforms to be used in following sessions.    ***Bring laptops/iPads to class***will work online in class
Session 2 Due Date - 05/11	Online classroom – Collection – Skills + Tools for information gathering; MBA Research resources
Session 3 Due Date - 12/11	Online classroom – Curation – filtering + other methods for keeping essential info collected; avoiding information overload
Session 4 Due Date - 19/11	Online classroom – Collaboration – tools for online teamwork; Best practices
Session 5 Due Date - 26/11	Online classroom – Presentation – tools and platforms for effective presentations + knowledge share
Session 6 Due Date - 03/12	Completion of required online presentations; Instructor review of blog posts demonstration competency in required tools + platforms – Final Self Assessment

Grading:

20 – 16	demonstrate superior understanding + use of assigned tools;  imaginative presentations, shared new sites/tools/knowledge; Active engagement of coursemates
15 -  11	demonstrate ability to use assigned tools, high quality presentations
10	set up tools, minimal use, competed assigned work – limited/no engagement, Ordinary presentations
9 lower	did not complete assigned posts; below MBA level presentations

                                  

Learning Hours : 18 hours

Course attendance – Total = 12 (2 hours in classroom; 2 hours per session on line)

Assessment – Quiz, Midterm, Final -                       No

Homework / Self study – online session =               2 hours per session

Project, Group / own work –              Blog Posts, platform practice = 1 hour per session

Field Work -                                                               No
